Down Home part 2

Know what I love ALMOST as much as being a Mom? Spending time with my Mama. And my Grandma. Wherever my Mom is, feels like home. She has an amazing talent for decorating, but mostly I think its just that she fills her space with lots of love. There is always something so sweet and relaxing about her place. She and GG just moved into a new home and the girls and I were really excited to get down there for a visit. My sweet cousin Ashlynn (Addison calls her Ashy) and my Grandma Alice were there as well. Needless to say, we were three very spoiled girls. Here are a few pictures of our time together.

GG brought Addison some sweet treats. I think they both look a bit guilty here.

Addison also got a tiara and wand, just what she needed.

So remember when I told Colorado to get it together and that I was tired of the rain. Well, just tell me to shut up because it was over 100 the whole time we were there! Grandma keeps the house nice and cool so we took advantage and played alot inside. She also has the most amazing beds, so we took lots of naps.
Addison loves her Grandmas bed.

We also went to "Main Street Bash". It was a bash, guess where? Yup Main street. Despite the heat, it was a really great time.
Addison won these, Delaney thought she need a pair for herself. Let the toy stealing begin

Despite the fact that I havent actually LIVED in Eads since I was around Addisons age, I still call it home. I guess its because there are so many people that I love there, literally just blocks from one another. People wave to you as you drive down the street and you cant really tell if they know who you are (Thats so and so's girl) or if they are just that friendly. Maybe a bit of both. Thats one of the charming things about a small town, they will always claim you as their own.

Love,
J

Down Home Story: Part One

Ok Party people, we are going to have to break this past weekend down into a few posts. There is a ton of stuff to get to. When we got to town, we went to see my Mama at work in town and then headed out to the farm. There were lots to see and Addison was very excited!

Babe and Grey were closest to the car so we stopped to visit them first.
Then it was off to find the Chickens.

This little black one was Addisons favorite
They also have some baby "chuckers"

After some playing outside, we headed in and Grandma helped Addison make some fresh eggs for lunch
Gotta crack it on the side
 Then put your thumbs in
Grandma had to get a few pieces of shell out
 Such a great cook
Laney excaped the heat by sittin with
Papa
We went back out for breakfast the next day so Addison had to go find her little black chicken. So cute
This time it was Laneys turn to pet Babe and Grey
Didnt take long for Addison to convince Grandma to put up the swing.
She will spend hours in here if she could

Carl helped Addison feed the horses, but she wasnt too sure about it.
Tomorrow Ill catch up with the pictures from our in town adventures. We also have a family reunion to talk about. Stay tuned............

Get it together Colorado

7 days of afternoon/evening storms? Seriously? Side eye to you, Colorado. Get it together. Every evening, the storm clouds come rolling in bringing the thunder, lighting, rain and hail that keep us all up. The dog hyperventilates, and Addison thinks that the Grinch is outside her window. I believe that the Grinch is the scariest thing she can imagine, so you are really working this kid up.

Quit.

Now.

Maybe you just need some reminding of what summer should look like. Fine, here you go.

This Mama is counting on the nice weather to wear her two year old out and you are majorly screwing that up. The pool closes for 30 minutes after every lighting strike the teenage lifeguard spots, even if its 52 miles away. I can only hope that their eagle eyes are on the kids half the time they are looking for the next lightning/breaksoicantextmyboyfriendintheshade strike.

Not pictured: Mama sitting pool side screaming at the two year old to jump up and down.
You may judge, but the result is a tired kid. Success!

We will be out of town for a few days, where both kids should be sufficiently worn out by family members. Feel free to take that time to get your act together and drum up some warm, nice weather for next week.

With love and (hopefully) sunshine,
J

Roly Polie Hut of Doom

Rolly Polly. Roly Poly. Rollie Pollie..... Ugh, I just had to google it. And its spelled Roly Polie, Wikipedia says so.

Our neighborhood is crawling with two things. Kids, and Roly Polies. I had both in my front yard the other day. Some of them ended up in cages.

More than one ended up squished.
Despite the handfulls of grass (for food, dont cha know) the kids shoved into this thing with a million bugs, the Roly Polies did not survive. Shocking, I know.
Ahhh these sweet summer days. Addison is in love with the outdoors, and her Dora swimsuit. Chances are good that you will be seeing this swimsuit in alot of the summer posts. It takes both Seth and I to get it off of her at night for bedtime.
Love,

Little bitty book worm

When Addison is quiet and still, she loves to read. She has her own little book nook here and at Grandma Billies house there is a permanent book station next to the sweetest little rocking chair. So many people have read to her and purchased her numerous books.

To them I say:

Thank you

And:

I hold you personally responsible for the fact that in a few short years she will be smarter than me.

Little Actress

Oh this kid kills me. She is so funny, and I am so happy I got this on video. She decided the other day that she had a southern accent. You know, because most 2 year olds speak in an elective accent.

I bet a Jersey accent is next, we watch alot of RHONJ up in here.
Later Ya'll,

Delaney sits up, America Celebrates

On Independence Day, Delaney sat up. Independently. An independent sitter. Couldn't be more proud.

At some point this weekend Daddy hurt his back so we stayed in most of the time. We did get to watch Fireworks from our backyard on Saturday. It was the first time Addison was old enough to really know what was going on and she really enjoyed the show. Next year it will be Delaney's turn. We can celebrate Independence Day and the anniversary of her Independent sitting day.
