Addi hits the road

Forget Dora Swimsuit (no seriously, forget it because I threw it away this past weekend.) and Tutu's. Addison is now all about the Bike. Daddy fixed it all up for her, bought a helmet, and set her on the open road.

She is the youngest kid on the block (aside from the babies) and she has been DYING to play with the other kids. Now she can finally keep up. She has been having a blast and the older kids have been fantastic playing with her and helping her learn.

She is so itty bitty but she always wants to do the big kid stuff.

A few weekends ago we met up with my Dad, Naomi, Cayden and Deacon for some Cherry Pickin fun. We live near an organic farm where you can go out and pick your own fruits and veggies. Although we would have loved to be able to pick strawberries, the only thing in season at the time was pie cherries. It was fun nonetheless.

They have some adorable porch rockers with chickens roaming around.

 Off to find the cherries

Not EVERY cherry made it into the carton.

Play quietly in your room, Mama needs a nap

So you know how when the baby starts crying at night, that uncontrollable high-pitched, someones stepping on a baby kind of cry and you go to her to try to comfort her with a blanket or a binkie or a boob and she wants NOTHING to do with any of it? Then you change her diaper, in case shes screaming from a pee- soaked bottom. And you change her jammies in case they are scratchy, and you take her temperature in case she isnt feeling well and you rub homeopathic junk on her gums in case those damn teeth are FINALLY deciding to cut thru? And still she screams like shes being whacked by a cattle prod? So you decide to go to your bed and lay back down because its 4am and she has been doing this every 3 hours since she went to bed? And then she finally, finally FINALLY stops screaming? And then you totally FREAK out because what if she stopped crying because she is dead? So then you sneak back into her room to check and see if she is still breathing? And to your amazement, she is sleeping and looks totally adorable? And then, you go to sneak quietly out of the room because your precious baby is finally getting some rest, and then you TRIP OVER THE FAN ON THE WAY OUT OF THE ROOM AND WAKE UP THE BABY???????

Yeah, I totally hate when that happens too.

Know whats cooler than Kids Incorporated?

When I was ten, there were two things that I wanted to be. A cast memeber of Kids Incorporated:

And

My Dads cousin Jodell.

This weekend at the family reunion my kids got to meet lots of our family. Including the one and only Jodell! And yes, thats my kid playing with a knife and fly swatter. Its how we do down home.

We had a really great time, Addi and Delaney got lots of luv from all the family!
I had forgotten the battery charger for my camera so I got very few pictures.  This is the second family function I have been at with Grammy and Pappy and havent gotten one picture with them. Im so dissapointed in myself for that.

We had lots of great food

They even had a cake with a picture of the Wilson family on it.

At the end of the day, we were ready to load up and go back to the hotel.  My Dads other cousin Tammy gave Addison a ride to the car.

We have a pretty cool family, not sure if any of them sing and dance like kids incorporated. But they are lots of fun and they sure can cook.

J

Down Home part 2

Know what I love ALMOST as much as being a Mom? Spending time with my Mama. And my Grandma. Wherever my Mom is, feels like home. She has an amazing talent for decorating, but mostly I think its just that she fills her space with lots of love. There is always something so sweet and relaxing about her place. She and GG just moved into a new home and the girls and I were really excited to get down there for a visit. My sweet cousin Ashlynn (Addison calls her Ashy) and my Grandma Alice were there as well. Needless to say, we were three very spoiled girls. Here are a few pictures of our time together.

GG brought Addison some sweet treats. I think they both look a bit guilty here.

Addison also got a tiara and wand, just what she needed.

So remember when I told Colorado to get it together and that I was tired of the rain. Well, just tell me to shut up because it was over 100 the whole time we were there! Grandma keeps the house nice and cool so we took advantage and played alot inside. She also has the most amazing beds, so we took lots of naps.
Addison loves her Grandmas bed.

We also went to "Main Street Bash". It was a bash, guess where? Yup Main street. Despite the heat, it was a really great time.
Addison won these, Delaney thought she need a pair for herself. Let the toy stealing begin

Despite the fact that I havent actually LIVED in Eads since I was around Addisons age, I still call it home. I guess its because there are so many people that I love there, literally just blocks from one another. People wave to you as you drive down the street and you cant really tell if they know who you are (Thats so and so's girl) or if they are just that friendly. Maybe a bit of both. Thats one of the charming things about a small town, they will always claim you as their own.

Love,
J
